At parents evening last week bens teacher said he had recently done a maths SATS paper in which he had done a lot worse than expected . She sent it home this weekend and I went through it with him ....

Rice pudding us definitely out as is cooked apple !! I am looking to improve his veg and meat intake rather than puddings as he gets plenty of calories just not the right balance of foods .

Every time I read a book like this I think of you.
It's pretty grim & hard going in some places.
Rice pudding is white and will not discernibly change colour even with some stewed apple swirled into it and you say he likes rice and the taste of Apple.
