Twin Mum diary by Roxie
Hello and welcome! I am Roxanna (Roxie) I am ?? of age and proud
of it. I can be described as well rounded or fat to the damn right
rude. I like to think the biggest thing about me is my stomach,
thighs, hips oops sorry I mean my PERSONALITY!. Pierre has been
given the dubious honour of being called my husband. I love him
to bits - the best man in world. Pierre is kind, thoughtful, funny,
handsome, gorgeous and . I forgot what I was trying to say. Yes
Pierre my best friend and soul mate. I knew I was going to marry
him from the first moment I saw him. To my two angels Nathan and
Aaron what can one say except that my life is complete. You make
my heart cry tears of joy when I look at you. As well as being my
sons, you are my two little friends that I hang out with each day.
They are more special than they realise, as on my side of my family
they are the first set of twins. Pierre's half brother has twin
girls. I wanted to say thank you for all of you who have read or
replied to my postings. I wanted to thank Lindsey and Tony for this
site. Anyway, here is my diary.

Monday
Well it is 3.42am! The boys have gathered something is going on.
They are on our bed playing in the dark. The time ticks by quickly,
my alarm goes off and it is time for actions stations. After all
Euro Disney waits for no one! I am impressed with the military precision
that has been taken to achieve our mission no stone is left unturned
in fact I have even taken their pyjamas out and hang on the end
of the cots for the return. The taxi arrives the boys have their
own seat and are safely strapped in. Luggage in, house locked and
. oh yes husband in the front seat.
Waterloo East in less than hour great!!. Now to navigate the security
checkpoint. Oh no, they want the boys out of the buggy oh no panic.
All goes well until I turn around and Nathan is not there. Ask Pierre
where he is but he does not know. That is when my Superhero sense
starts tingling. I home in and my radar notices one lone twin running
towards freedom. I run to retrieve my son only to be blocked by
custom officers who I then have to shove to get him. I retrieve
the offending individual who proceeds to protest his innocence in
a display of tantrums.
All that drama is over thank goodness Aaron likes to stay close
by. Loaded up on the train (Castle Club on the Euro Star) and of
we all go. Half an hour went by and the guard then tells us we are
in the wrong carriage. I give Pierre the "LOOK". THEREFORE, we move
to find someone else in our seats who give us the "LOOK" who in
turn I give the "LOOK" for seating in our seats.
We arrive in Euro Disney luggage taken to Disneyland Hotel we have
our passes and off we go. The sun is shining and it is hot hot.
I think the French air may not agree with Nathan who feels the need
to place himself as close to concrete as possible. This is achieved
by the customary tantrum and refusal to walk. Aaron on the other
hand is so content to walk. He is very careful and spends all his
time avoiding cracks and the brick joints where he walks we may
reach the park by tonight. It is really hot and so out comes the
sun block on the boys. Once in the park Nathan's mood lifts and
his eyes get bigger as he is amazed by what he sees. I decide that
ice cream is in order. Bad idea as the sun is melting it quicker
than they can eat it.
We decide to check into our hotel. WOW!!! What a room. It is huge
and really nice. The boys are in their element loads of room to
run around and no accidents to happen as the furniture is spaced
out. I freshen up the boys, unpack and make the room homely. Then
we off more adventure. The boys are mesmerised by the characters
and so gentle when they touch them. Pierre is stalked by a character
out of Robin Hood not sure it is Prince John or Sir Guy.
What a first day. We are all knackered but all in great spirits.
Night Night.
Tuesday
The boys awake around 7.00 am. Dressed, and it's up to the restaurant
for breakfast. It is packed but all the characters are on hand to
help it more pleasurable. Oooo it is Donald, look Mickey, Goofy's
coming hold Minnie is here too..Pluto and I am not sure who you
are but boys get excited anyway. I am proud of my sons as they sat
at breakfast so happy. The boys eat well and at the end handed the
plate with the cutlery back to me when they were finished. Today
is the boy's birthday tea.
We get to the restaurant for the tea. The boy's favourite is Tigger.
Tigger soon make a beeline for the boys and the boys are so happy.
Tigger makes a real fuss of them and we have some lovely pictures.
Then the music start and happy birthday rings out and next thing
we know Mickey and friends appear. A birthday cake appears on our
table. Nathan and Aaron are just excited by the site of the characters
that they not really bothered with the cake. Eeyore comes over and
strokes Nathan's hair. Nathan then tries to feed eeyore some cake.
Nathan and Aaron are given a toy Mickey that sings happy birthday.
Pierre is stalked again by the one out of Robin Hood.
We then head of around the park enjoying as much as we can as
we go home tomorrow. In the Walt Disney studio, we arrive just in
time for the show. Nathan nearly has a starring role in it as he
wanders off again.
Nice to see the boys having such fun dancing and singing. Oh by
the way it still another lovely hot summers day.
We return to the room for me to pack up which I do in super quick
time. I decide it time to go and have a nice dinner, as it was our
final night. So, we head off to the hotel restaurant to enjoy a
wonderful buffet style dinner. The food is excellent. The characters
are on hand. What is nice is the way in which they come over to
Nathan and Aaron make them feel at ease. Aaron insists on kissing
everyone's nose. After stuffing ourselves to the full. We all roll
back to the room.
Pierre and I sit on the bed and watch the boys run around. We talk
about how lucky we are to all have each other and how nice it has
been to spend this time together. Knackered we all go to sleep.
Wednesday
It is our last day. So breakfast first. We get a lovely table, which
gives us loads of room. The boys eat well. I am not hungry but just
fancy a nice cup of coffee. Back to the room so we can check out.
Our suitcase is taken to the station for us but the rest of our
bits are left in the luggage hold at the hotel.
Only few hours left we got a lot to see. We decide to go the shopping
mall, which is one train stop away. It is there that Nathan decides
he wants to walk around the whole time he has sat in the buggy when
we have been out. A little bit of shopping has been done. As it
is the boy's birthday on Saturday, I buy them a few bits.
Around the parks, again the boys are really getting into the Disney
spirit. However, it is time to go the station. The good thing is
with our Hotel so close to everything we can get there in plenty
of time.
We have nice train Manager who tells us that someone is in our
seats but he has allocated us even better ones because of the boys.
(The boys do not get a seat unless we pay) We are given four seats
and there is loads of room behind us to place our stuff plus the
two seats next us are free too. The train is not that full which
is brilliant so not a lot of hanging around trying to use baby change
facilities.
Nice journey home. We get to Waterloo in good time and even our
taxi is early. All goes well we arrive home safely. The boys are
washed and put to bed.
Thursday.
The boys lie in to until 9.00am. However, it looks like Aaron is
not looking well not sure if it is too much sun. Pierre is home
which is still nice. The boy's birthday party is Saturday and there
is a lot to do - where to start? Nathan has to go the chiropractor
to have his treatment for his trigger fingers. As usual, we all
arrive in our quiet fashion. Nathan is used to the treatment now.
He just has points in his neck pressed and some things they done
his fingers. Nathan is cooperative but always eager to get away.
The chiropractor is a nice man who is very fond of the boys and
has done his best to find out as much as he can about Nathan's trigger
fingers. Aaron is very clingy. My poor baba is not well. He more
irritable than anything. I put both down for a nap. Then operation
clean up starts. Washing on, check, suitcase away, check, cleaning
commenced, check, lawn mowed, check, off to the shopping check.
Pierre is trying to tidy up the storage area. We decide to have
a sit down and a cuddle. Oh! The boys are up lunch goes on. Day
escapes me and not sure what has been achieved but Aaron and Nathan
are well looked after so that is all that counts. Pierre spends
until the early hours of the morning clearing our storage area so
the rubbish can go out for collection. By the amount we have put
out, I am afraid it is good old fashion bribery has to come into
play. I nearly forgot the charity shop is doing a collection so
I finally clear those things I have been promising myself will go.
Friday
It is our babies 2nd birthday. Pierre and I get up. The boys are
still a sleep. We manage to meet the dustbin men and with a little
bit of begging and a few bottles of beer they take all the rubbish.
HOORAY! If it rains tomorrow, I can now place the guest in the storage
area! We all sit have breakfast together. Unfortunately, Aaron is
not looking well at all. As the boys are having a huge party and
Aaron is not well we try to keep things low key. However, with banners
and balloons all over the place I think we are making it a little
obvious. We spend the day playing and having fun. The phone has
been ringing non-stop. Wishes of happy birthday flooding in for
all over, telegrams, satellite links to Downing Street, The White
House and Buckingham Place. Not sure which engagements to turn down.
After all the gathering at the Bigord Castle will far out do any
celebrity bash this year. (Hello Magazine off course will be on
hand to photograph)
With the end of the night, approaching operation birthday party
begins.
Saturday
It is now 2am and Aaron is poorly. Screaming and not able to settle
and running a temperature. He is teething and his face is so puffed.
It is best to abandon the mission for the moment and then see what
the morning brings. I wake up at 5 am. Aaron is nestled contently
with Pierre. I am getting washed, dressed, and head off to do some
supplies shopping. Mission accomplished and I am safely back at
base. 8am the noise begins. I am ready, as I have made breakfast.
Pierre and I wash and dress the boys. Aaron still not too well.
Nathan is in high spirits. We tell them what today is about they
do look blankly at us but hey, we tried. Preparations are well under
way. Must get the boys to nap. Cuddle time again. Nathan sleep straight
away but Aaron still restless. Doorbell rings, help has arrived.
Reinforcements in the kitchen the plans come together.
It drawing closer to 3.30 p m and Aaron is shattered so I put him
down for a nap. Nathan is dressed in all is splendour a Spiderman
short and t-shirt outfit. He is impressed and struts his stuff.
A steady trickle of guest arrives. Nice flow able to say hi show
of one twin and explain about the other. Then the stampede. Where
did all these people come from? Did I really invite this many? God
please do not rain. Is there enough food? Infact where is the food?
Nathan enjoys himself, as there is a bouncy castle and loads of
freedom!!
It is a great party everyone is enjoying themselves. Aaron wakes
up and is overwhelmed when he sees all the people. It is time to
cut the two Winnie cakes. Pierre and I holding Aaron and Nathan
and it is time to sing happy birthday. Aaron directs the singing.
Nathan wants to escape the garden. It is an emotional moment as
Pierre and I realise how really blessed we are to have such wonderful
sons. Family and friends who really are brilliant surround us. Two
years have flown by where has the time gone? What will the next
year bring? Music on now we dance away to old reggae and go mad
when "Greetings" is played and it is at this point my friend announces
she wants this played at her funeral!!
Everyone helps to put wash up, pack up, clean and take all the
remaining food. People want to stay but Pierre is working tomorrow
so good old Melanie ushers people out. The boys are knackered to
bed they go. Sweet dreams about the presents are sitting in the
living room. What a day! Never thought it would flow well. Pierre
and I collapse on the sofa and relax. We reflect upon the day and
have a giggle. I realised that we hardly saw each other all day.
Sunday
It's the morning after the night before - I feel like I have been
on the dance floor all night. Luckily, Aaron and Nathan stay in
bed until 9 a.m. Pierre has left for work will not be home until
8 pm.
The boys and I play with the balloons; carry on playing music and
dancing. Aaron still not 100% but at least Nathan is in high spirits.
The three of us sit on the sofa together and cuddle up. Am I not
just the luckiest person in the whole world?
Still have not opened the presents.
Well, as another birthday ends. My sons are now toddlers and don't
they just know it.
