Saturday 15th May
My Saturday starts at 6.30am when Dan wakes me and tells me boys
have been fed and off he goes to work for 12 hrs, minutes later
s club 7 are blaring out of my eldest daughters bedroom, time to
get up and let the weekend begin. At 10am after a few black coffees,
hoovering, polishing, sweeping, mopping, bathroom and toilets cleaned
all five children fed watered and dressed we set off on the 2.5-mile
walk to my nans. Half way there we stop off at Selina's (mate of
mine) house and she gave the girls drink and crisps while I had
some more coffee! Got to my nans about 11.30am then we went to mums
and girls jumped in her outdoor pool. Although its heated it was
still a bit too cold for the boys to go in plus it would be their
first time and Dan would like to see their faces! My cousin and
his heavily pregnant wife and their 1yr old daughter arrived for
a swim and brought salad, French stick, ham, cheese…need I go on?
It was a lovely day, I set off on the walk home with the boys (am
loving the urban detour) while mum got girls dressed and drove them
home. I got back about 5.30pm (so glad I done house work before
I went out) boys were sleeping from the walk home so I got on with
dinner. My friend Rio arrived just in time to help me get them all
ready for bed, Ellie went at 6.30pm and boys went at 7pm (just after
Rio left) after getting boys to sleep. Dan arrives home to put Alice
and Aimee to bed, then a well deserved Chinese and cuddle is in
order.
Sunday16th May
I ended up going to bed at 9pm last night and didn't wake till 7am
this morning! I feel rough though, I have the cold the children
have had and the 5 mile walk yesterday has aggravated my spd, I
can hardly move, let alone pick babes up…as little as possible is
the plan for me today I wonder if the children will agree? As I'm
about to pour cereal into three bowls Aimee announces "mum I have
a cold so I need warm in my belly so you HAVE to make me porridge"…how
can I refuse such 4yr old logic? Another beautifully sunny day,
the grass is four ft long and the lawn mower broke last time we
cut the grass and haven't got round to doing anything about it yet,
how can I keep them cooped up today? Do I risk losing Ellie out
there? Ellie went to sleep and so did Ethan and Regan and well,
I ended up cutting the grass…. not sure if it was burning because
my nose is blocked, kept getting little shocks of the handle though,
it was quite nice actuall
Truly feeling disabled I sit down for the first time today and
all three wake up, so I start filling the paddling pool, all three
girls sit around watching it slowly fill, it was very comical, lay
the boys down on a blanket in the shade in the hope of catching
a few rays myself. No such luck, few moments here and there but
wasn't really worth it so give it up as a bad job. Waddled around
the rest of the day doing lunch and dinner (which I burnt whilst
checking the forum for the first time this weekend) and tidy up
for the umpteenth time and then after bathing all five I start the
bedtime routine. Dh off tomorrow so should be an easier day.
Monday 17th May
Wake at 7am and dh next to me yipppppeeeee, we go down stairs and
have coffee together before the army wakes. Dan does breakfast while
I jump in the bath, Aimee isn't going to school today as she doesn't
look well at all so I drop Alice off at school and go to work. Work
done for the morning and I go with mum to garden centre and spent
a whopping £606.61!!!!!!!!! How is that possible on a few slabs
and fence??? No I got a little bit more than that, and it will be
worth it once the garden's done, back in time to pick Alice up from
school then get dinner from chippy. Checked the forum and then back
to work for 6.30pm.after work I picked my mum up so we could go
lay a flower where a 17yr old boy was killed in a road accident…it
was a hit and run in a stolen car, he taught my brother some bike
tricks, his death has affected everyone I know, even those who never
new him, like myself.
Dan did very well getting the boys to sleep (its usually my job)
when I got home at 8pm all the children were tucked up asleep and
house is spotless so I watch Eastenders and spend some "quality"
time with my husband.
Absolutely exhausted I go to sleep.
Tuesday 18th May
Dan had to feed the boys at 3am (they usually go through) so I might
introduce lunch to them today. Wake at 7.30am, get kids ready for
school, plaster the sun block on them, have to wait in this morning
for delivery of the garden stuff I brought yesterday then its off
to Tesco and I want to try and get some shopping done for me too
because its my birthday on Thursday. Dan has given me £100 on the
condition I don't spend it on the garden or the children (so basically
I HAVE to spend it on myself!) which is very hard for a mother to
do without the guilt setting in.
Anyway as I write this Dan is taking Alice and Aimee to school
and the boys are sleeping and Ellie is glued to cbeebies so I guess
I should go and do the house work, Dan will do the ironing when
he gets back, no rest for the wickedJ. Well that didn't go to plan
at all, the am delivery arrived at 2.30pm so we were stuck in waiting
all morning and then ended up taking five children to Tesco…not
a pleasant experience, I'm so tired, this cold has really knocked
me back, it's not so much that I feel poorly with it but so tired
and lethargic.
1030pm, way past my bedtime, Dan on 12hr shift tomorrow so six
school runs in store!
Wednesday 19th May
Whooooooooo I am absolutely ummmm tired! The first time I sat down
today was to eat my dinner at about 4.30pm and that was for about
10mins. We (me and Ellie) have walked to school and back 3 times
today, done as much cleaning as I possible could, the boys today
have been an absolute nightmare, crying, screaming, yet the minute
they picked up they stop, normally there ok in the buggy but no,
not today, while waiting for Alice and/or Aimee to come out of school
on the various trips today they both screamed so I'd get one out
while someone else would have to get other out. My friend popped
round today and she couldn't believe it, she's never seen them like
that before, they're so tired from it all they are asleep now, at
5.45pm, (they don't normally go until about 6.30-7) poor Ellie asleep
too from all the walking her little legs have done today.
Best of it is we got to do it all again tomorrow: (I hope weather
is as nice because its even worse doing it in the rain), but maybe
that's the problem, I'm thinking maybe the boys just don't like
the heat. I'm fit for bed but I have to tidy up again and make pack
lunch and fill out umpteen forms for Ellie to start pre-school so
I can give them back in tomorrow. Very early night for me tonight
I think, I cant wait for the weekend, I'm going out with my mum,
she has got us tickets to see Tony Stockwell (the street psychic).
ITS MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW 28 shhhhhhh.
Thursday 20th May
Girls wake me up at 6.30am and sing happy birthday it was soooo
sweet. Go downstairs and open cards and there is a caterpillar birthday
cake with candles on and balloons up in the kitchen and out the
front of the house, I get phone calls and text of happy birthday
and Susan (cbmum) posts happy birthday (she sent me card too) and
lots of people reply happy birthday to, it is so nice to read.
I got a picture mobile phone with the money from DH and DH mum
and dad. My mum and dad helped pay for the garden stuff I bought
the other day and mum is also taking me to see Tony stockwell on
Saturday, and my mate is taking me out for dinner tomorrow night.
Other than that I think it's going to be just another day of cooking
and cleaning! No more work for me this week so that's nice, and
DH only working half day tomorrow. Oh Regan has two white lines
where his bottom teeth are about to break through so that might
explain what yesterday was about and he can actually get to where
he wants to go in his walker now, there five months old tomorrow,
can't believe how quickly its gone. Its now 6.30pm and Ellie and
boys asleep, it's been hectic with Regan and Ethan crying a lot
again, gave them some calpol and they calmed for a while so it has
to be teeth doesn't it? It's a nightmare on my own when there both
screaming and Ellie wants so and so, all three of them demanding
my attention, sometimes feeling putting them on pause! If onlyJ
Dan will be home soon so we can both chill after a hard days work.
Cant believe tomorrow is my last day of diary, its gone so quick
and I haven't even told you what I do all day yet.lol
Friday 21st May
Woke at 5.45am and could not get back to sleep, just what I needed
L at least got the house clean before I take Alice and Aimee to
school, got back about 9.30am Ellie went back to bed for an hour
and Regan spent the whole time screaming, he has two lumps on the
white lines under his gum, if I could pull them through for him,
I posted a photo of them, the feelings I get when I get such nice
comments about my babes is better than chocolate
Only two school trips today as dh finish at two so he picks Alice
up, I get to have a nice long soak in the bath, Alice spent ages
washing my hair, pure luxury and worth a very exhausting week. Now
I'm off to have dinner out with my friend and tomorrow I'm out with
my mum, and Sunday DH gets to go out. I love my family. Thanks for
sharing my week.
