Twin Mum diary

Hi I'm Keely, AKA Sevenbellies - dp of Rod, and
mother of the wee men Joshua (22.05.1994) Ben & Sam (08.11.2002)
see above
You've read my birth story, now read my diary!
Sunday 8 August 2004
We have my cousin and her husband staying with us at the moment
who are Canadian and they have been here for over two weeks now.
This morning I kicked out Rod (dp) and Wendy's (cousin) husband
Gary to London as he wants to see the Imperial War Museum and something
else along those lines….and guess what ...we didn't! Already spent
two days in London doing the sights. This included London Dungeons;
Joshua who is 10 hated every minute of it and was really scared
so glad the littlies were with my Mum & Dad … wouldn't take children
(and adults!!) of a nervous disposition. Wendy & I went to Milton
Keynes shopping but at 32 degrees it was too hot and we were very
lethargic to say the least. Came home, parents came over to the
goodbyes, had a BBQ and collapsed into bed at 9.30pm…
9 August
Started today at 2.45am…no not the boys mind, they had stirred
a fair bit before, to leave to Gatwick airport. The flight is not
until 09.15am with a four hour check in but Gary is such a worry
wart and so bloody impatient that we have to leave at this ungodly
hour to get them their…needless to say I was back home by 05.30am
and cleaning the en suite which they had been using. Today we aren't
gonna do a lot more, tidy up put away all those nice things. We
also went along to open gym at Gymboree, which they always enjoy
and we see lots of our friends there to. As this is in Central Milton
Keynes felt obliged to shop but not for long as I was knackered
to say the least. Headed home, ate tea, bathed and went to bed (well
that took about 3 hours really!)
10 August
My god they slept through the whole night to 6.45pm from 8.30am
- that's a really rare thing. I slept from 9.30pm to when they woke
and still feel totally worn out. Joshua got up... wait for it...
at 10.20am……and I had to nag him for about an hour before that!
So we have spent this very wet morning playing animals and cars,
I make the best lion (well perhaps it's a tiger!) noise. Ben & Sam
play choo choo…hold on to each other like a train and off they go
and then into peels of laughter, well perhaps that's because I made
them jump. Sleep for an hour or so and then we went shopping! Well
if you can call it that, I couldn't be bothered so we just went
to M&S to get something for tea! We came home, we played we ate
we got mucky we bathed they went to bed…I then spent some time in
the chat room while I should have been working.
11 August
Wednesdays is Gymboree day, which is at 11.10am. Ben slept until
6.30am and Sam about an hour later. Once again they did not eat
breakfast, something I am getting worried about. They seem not to
want to eat anything at the moment and this has been going on for
a few weeks now. Mind they will grab a banana and sit and eat that.
OK so off we go around 9.30am as I have errands to run in Central
Milton Keynes. Do the errands, Joshua takes me around the normal
shops he likes which includes the toy store The Entertainer in which
I purchase two torches shaped like a tiger and a dinosaur which
make the appropriate noises when activated….I just love them, well
I think the boys do to! We get to gym and the boys have a brilliant
time as usual with friends Luke & James and Teigan & Rhiannon. We
have lunch with J&J and their mum Sharan. Rod is home early around
7pm so I send him up to bath the boys while I tidy the garden and
end up weeding! Rod cooks dinner as I type this up….what a way to
live eh! But did get a call from Rod's best mate who lives in Dunblane,
they are coming down at the weekend so we can meet their first born
Charles (07.06.04) and I can't wait…but I have only just cleared
up after the last lot of guests…well they won't be here that long!
12 August
6.30am start (this is getting into a pattern isn't it!!) we
start the day well Ben does Sam is still sleeping again! We do nothing
much at all, we eat breakie we play we watch the Fimbles, they go
for a snooze around 11.30am and wake up at 1.45pm hoorrrayyy. We
didn't do an awful lot, really didn't feel like it too hot a sticky,
so a very uneventful day (bit like the ones before!) really, we
played lots, they bet the heck out of Joshua they ate tea, Daddy
came home they had a bath and off they went to bed.
13 August
OK so its that Friday feeling and it's the 13th….ooooohhhhhh.
Well today we are off to open gym at Gymboree - I do like to get
my monies worth - which starts at 09.15am. Got there, met a friend
with twin boys, left there had a coffee and did a few errands and
came home to get the boys in bed for around midday and they slept
for a few hours again (fantastic - now how long will this last!!!!).
We were gonna pop down to Argos and get the boys a bouncy castle
but a friend popped round instead so we chatted we drank tea and
so the afternoon went on. Oh the boys, well they played (friend
has a son same age) very well together we interfered from time to
time only to be grunted at! So then the routine started again, tea,
Daddy home, he baths them, they have their milk he puts them to
bed…..another day over!
14 August
Today Rod is working so we really don't tend to leave the house
too much. We spent the morning drawing and building blocks only
to just get to the top and Ben knocks them all over roaring with
laughter (he has a real wicked laugh as well right from the belly!!).
Around 11.30 the go off for a nap….1.30 I wake them for a picnic
lunch in the garden. Well they seemed to enjoy that or was it feeding
their food to our neighbours kittens….mmmmm not too sure! Well the
afternoon now that did prove eventful. We have a wonderful wildlife
park in the village so we decided to get he boys in their trailer
tot and cycle down round and back. The boys have historically been
hysterical in this trailer…today they seemed to love it and we got
there round - stopped for coffee/drinks, they played at the wee
play area and got in to the trailer all nicely to come back, the
day was going better than I expected.
So we are abut 500yrds into the 1km cycle home and Sam wants his
dummy so I stop, phone bleeps text from said same friend of yesterday
asking me to put the kettle on (she is going through a divorce)
so I said I would be five mins and see her at the house. So off
I set, Josh is just a head of me, well then my handle bars decided
to twist in the wrong direction and I ended up crashing, the trailer
stayed upright I didn't and I was caught in barbed wire with a buckled
wheel. I sent Josh a head of me wiped myself down as best I could
and pushed my way home to a friend who had made me a cuppa, a partner
on his way home a very upset 10 year old and clothing rather covered
in blood….anyway enough, I got cleaned up went to hospital and there
we are a few stitches etc later and all is well - thank god I say
that it was me not Josh and the trailer stayed the right way up.
Fish and chips that night bought my week to a close! The moral -
when fixing your front brakes check the handlebars!!! LOL
Sorry if the week has been boring but that's my life…
… Lots of love Keely AKA sevenbellies
