Diary of a Twin Mum

Hi my name is Karen, (Karenfev on the forum) I’m 31 and I am married to Simon 37 (old)! I am Mum to Holly and James 17 months old (as I write this) and a right handful!!! I am currently a stay-at-home mum and plan to stay that way for a while! We recently moved to the country and are doing up our new house! I am getting to spend loads of money which is my favourite thing!

This is my Twin Mum Diary

Saturday
Woke up at 6.30am and brought H & J downstairs for milk and a play, then breakfast at 7.30am and a nice happy playtime till Daddy got up at 9am. They both decided then that Daddy is the only person in the world who will do, so off I went to get ready for a day tile hunting for the kitchen! We all managed to get dressed and out of the house by 10am to hunt down the elusive tiles! Spent the entire day shopping, babes were angels and did not whinge once. Home and in bed by 7.30pm

Sunday
Another early morning! H & J went to grannys for the day so we could go shopping again (feel a bit cruel dragging them around the shops all the time!). Picked them up at 6pm – home for a bath and in to bed by 7pm as they didn’t have a nap at Grannys! Lovely peaceful evening arguing about what kind of kitchen we are going to have!

Monday
Up at 7am just in time for Hi5! Granny came round at 9.30am so I could catch up on the weekends cleaning and washing as I did nothing all weekend (bad mummy!!!). Babes had a lovely long sleep this morning so got loads done, spent the afternoon playing in the ball pit and throwing the balls out then putting the balls back in (favourite game). Man came to price for air conditioning in the conservatory (it’s like an oven) so hopefully we should get that done before the winter ha ha ! In bed by 7.30pm, not asleep till 9pm though!

Tuesday
Didn’t wake up till 8am – absolutely unheard of!! Off to Asda straight after breakfast with Granny, then back to our house to play with Granddad (favourits person in the world!!). Another early night after no nap again (is it time to drop that nap ??)

Wednesday
Luxury daddy at home due to tube strike ! ! ! So up early and play with daddy all morning! Off to granny’s for the afternoon so we can go and look at more kitchens! Bought a lovely fireplace and found the kitchen of my dreams going to have to work on Simon though! Home for a bath and bed by 7.30pm

Thursday
Starting to get excited about our trip to the zoo tomorrow!! Spent the day making sure we had everything ready for tomorrow, did loads of washing and cleaning so I don’t have to worry about it in the morning, went to Granny’s for lunch and back to play the favourite make a mess with the balls game again! Cut the back of Holly’s hair (very pleased with myself) and she looks really cute! In bed early so we are bright and sunny for the morning!

Friday
Today’s the day! Woke up at 6am so I could get showered and dressed before Holly and James wake up. Had to get them up at 6.30am poor things – now they know how it feels, ha ha ha! Dressed and breakfasted by 8am in time for a play before we need to leave to get to the zoo! It’s a lovely sunny day here, hope it lasts. Leave at 8.30am on the dot! I got hopelessly lost in the depths of Norfolk!! Was a bit late but we made it to Banham Zoo eventually. Met up with everyone and had a wander round the zoo (it’s lovely with loads of interesting animals) had a fab picnic lunch which we managed to finish just before it started to rain! Had a bit more of a wander round the zoo, but I didn’t feel confident enough to get James and Holly out of the buggy on my own (must practice that more). Left at around 1.30pm and again got hopelessly lost, and didn’t get back to my Mum’s until 4pm with 2 very grumpy babies!! Had tea at Mums and then home for 6.30pm for milk and bed and they were asleep within minutes! I hope they don’t wake up too early!!

Thanks for reading my diary, Love Karen
