Twin Mum diary by Emma
Hello, Im Emma (EMMABU), I am engaged to be married to Robert (16th
September 2005) We have Identical Twin boys Daniel and Aaron, they
were born on 10th January 2004 @ 32 weeks. Robert is a Baker and
I am a part time Travel agent. We live in an end terrace house in
Lisburn, Northern Ireland (9 miles outside Belfast)

Saturday
Woke up at 8.45am (oh no I slept in L ). We are going on Holiday
today, I still have loads to do. I got Daniel and Aaron up (as they
were still sleeping) got them washed and changed, then I got stuck
in to the Ironing, packing and cleaning the house. Robert kept the
boys entertained while I got on with things. We finally left the
house at 1.30pm, we are going to Newcastle for 1 week, we have hired
a picturesque cottage over looking the Mourne Mountains (Truly stunning)
First stop Roberts mum & dads, they have a static caravan in Newcastle.
Roberts mum had made our lunch, so that was a real treat! About
3.30pm we all headed up to the cottage with two car loads full of
Daniel and Aaron’s thing. The cottage was beautiful with its wood
clad ceilings, open turf fire, its own garden, plus 3 Shetland ponies
grazing in the field.Roberts mum & dad took Daniel and Aaron off
so we could go down to Tesco’s and get some shopping in. We picked
the boys up, came back to the cottage got them fed and changed for
bed (couldn’t believe how quickly they went to sleep) Robert and
I had a nice relaxing evening with a bottle of wine
Sunday
The boys woke quite early, so I went and bought them in to bed with
Robert and I, all they wanted to do was get up, so we took them
down stairs and gave them their breakfast, we all got washed and
dressed and went out in the car. We took a walk round a big boot
sale in Dundrum (I picked up a couple of Wade Whimsies I collect).
Then back to the cottage to give to hungry men their lunch (most
of it they spat down their selves) Got them changed, there is a
lovely garden at the back of the cottage so we lay a big beach towel
on the grass so the boys could roll around and play with their toys.
Met up with Roberts mum and Dad at about 2.00pm, we went for a lovely
meal at a place over looking the harbour, the boys were as good
as gold, as always attracting a lot of attention and questions (all
while we are trying to eat our meal) After we had finished we put
the boys in the pram and took them for a nice walk by the sea. Back
to the cottage we got Daniel and Aaron fed and changed for bed.
Put them down, again they went straight to sleep, it must be all
the good air they are getting Me and Robert sat out with a beer
or two.
Monday
We are having a lazy day today although Roberts Granny and Granda
are coming down to visit. The boys were up about 7.00am, we went
in to two smiling faces. Took them down and gave them their breakfast
(they are loving weetabix) Robert got them both washed and dressed,
So I went off and had a nice relaxing shower. Of course I may be
on holiday, But the washing and Ironing still has to be done! Went
to Tesco’s so I could get things for a BBQ. The sun is shinning
and it is really warm, I'm sitting out catching a few rays, Robert,
Daniel and Aaron are all asleep, ahhh peace, I sat out for over
a hour then my happiness was spoilt by two wee men wanting their
lunch, so we got them fed. We then went down to Roberts’s mum and
dads caravan as Granny and Granda had arrived, Robert's Dad was
treating us to dinner. After our meal we came back to the cottage
and sat out in the sun, what a lovely day we have had. The boys
went to bed early tonight, as they are very tired and ratty
Tuesday
Aaron had us up through the night and then Daniel decided he wanted
to get up at the crack of dawn (I could have really done with lay
in) Today is a real wash out RAIN, RAIN oh and more RAIN, this is
what Northern Ireland is all about! We decided to head to Newry after
we had all got fed washed and dressed. Newry has 2 big shopping
centre’s (I'm in seventh heaven ) I got Daniel and Aaron a pair
of slippers each as they get very cold feet at night, I also got
them some new vests, as they have grown out of their old ones. Roberts
mum and dad took the boys so Robert and I could have some time to
ourselves, we went in to Newcastle, Robert treated me to Ice-cream
and coffee, we sat and talked (we were only gone a hour and half)
We picked the boys up and all went back to the cottage and had an
early night.
Wednesday
Woke up at 8.00am, Robert got up and cooked me breakfast while I
lay on, the boys are still asleep, of course by the time I'm ready
to eat my breakfast they want theirs and are screaming the house
down! What a beautiful day, the sun is splitting the trees, it’s
really hot. We are going to Tullmore Forest Park. We went for a
lovely long walk, the boys slept most of the time. We got ice cream,
I couldn’t resist giving the boys some, the mess, they got it every
where, but they loved it! We came back to the cottage and I'm sitting
in the sun, Robert is giving the boys their tea, I can’t believe
its Wednesday already and yes I'm having withdrawal symptoms from
no Twinsclub! Having a BBQ, just burgers and sausages, hopefully
it will be nice so we can sit out after the boys have gone to bed.
Thursday
Got up about 7.30am gave the boys their breakfast, then gave them
a bath (Aaron has really bad teething rash, I thought the bath may
soothe it!) I'm not feeling the best today, I have really bad pains
in my tummy. Another sunny day, its really warm, we drove to Kekeel,
although I'd never been there before, there was nothing there, so
we came back and just went in to Newcastle for a walk by the sea,
Robert bought Daniel and Aaron a new pair of Adidas trainers each.
Got back to the cottage and sat out with Daniel and Aaron, they
are really enjoying their holiday, I honestly can’t believe how
good they have been. Robert and I went out for Chinese, we hadn’t
had one for ages, and it was YUM We came back and settled the boys
down to bed, then watched Big Brother, I'm trying to catch up as
I have missed a few of them. After that we both went to bed, as
we are both really tired (that sea air must be getting to us too!)
Friday
Last day of our holiday (sob, sob) we are having friends come up
this evening for a BBQ, so we have to go out and get a few things
in. It's 7.30am and I'm sitting writing this, Robert, Daniel and
Aaron are still fast asleep. My peace didn’t last for long, Robert
bought the two boys down for their breakfast, then I washed and
dressed them (they are such little fighters, they just don’t want
to put their clothes on anymore) We are going to a beautiful fishing
village for lunch, called Ardglass the restaurant overlooks where
all the fishing boats are moored. They have a lovely gift shop,
I went in and bought a lovely fish tealight holder, it’s really
unusual, I also bought my friend a pair of hand made silver earring’s,
just as a wee thank you for looking after the house, while we were
away. On the way back to the cottage we went in to Newcastle so
I could get meat and salads for the bbq, my best friend Lynn is
coming up and she is bringing her boyfriend up (I have never met
him before) I did all the packing for going home tomorrow, we should
have had a 2 week holiday as the week has gone far to quickly Lynn
and Chris came up and we had a really lovely evening, the boys got
loads of fuss. The boys took a long time to go to sleep, as they
were very excitable. Robert and I headed to bed about 12.30am
Thanks for reading my diary, I hope I haven’t bored you. Emma xoxox
