About Us www.twinsclub.co.uk
We Are :
Tony Jones
Tony Jones is the proud father of beautiful twin daughters,
and had the initial idea for a website for parenting multiples.
Back in 1999 there was very little help and information online
for parents of twins and triplets and it was Tony's vision
to produce a website which would bring together all other
parents of multiples in an online community. Working as a
freelance IT consultant meant Tony had the technical skills
but to produce a website for parents of multiples and needed
someone to take care of the site content.
Lindsey Gray
Preparing to give birth to twins in 1999, Lindsey spent a
lot of time trawling the intenet in the hope of finding a
UK site with information about the daunting task ahead! Identical
boys Alex and Toby arrived in August 1999 and the need for
advice increased. Like many twin and triplet mums, Lindsey
joined her local twins clubs in south London, (Dulwich &
District and Beckenham & Bromley), but realised that there
were many people who would be without this fantastic resource.
The fruitless internet searches kept turning up the domain
and finally Lindsey contacted Tony and offered to help
and the site was born in June 2000.
The Website
After the initial launch in 2000, Tony spent a huge amount
of time and effort in expanding the site, which grew very
quickly. In February 2001, the website was completely revamped,
to give it a new look and feel. The site became more interactive,
allowing our many visitors to exchange information, ideas
and concerns with each other. Since launching the website,
it has gone from strength to strength.
now receives over 250,000 hits each week from not just
the UK, but all over the world. We have over 200,000 forum
postings, aswell as articles and information from twinsclubs
and multiples groups in the UK.
Starting with 2 clubs in 2000, we now have over 200 listed
on our clubs page so you
should be able to find one near you.
2006 saw the launch of our new expanded
forums, offering greater facilities for our members. After
a few teething problems they are now running very successfully,
so if you haven't tried them yet, jump in and have a go!
Our Aims:
Back in 2000, there was no UK site for parenting twins, triplets
or more. We set out to change all that. We wanted to put people
in touch with one another, so they could share their experiences,
offer support and advice, and generally help each other out.
We wanted to link up all the UK twins clubs, so they can pool
their newsletter info, swap funnies, etc - anything which
would make the job easier! At
we aim to produce a site where anyone with multiples
in the UK can find out the information specific to them. You
may have just found out you're having a multiple pregnancy
and need to find someone in your area to talk to. You may
live in a remote part of the country where there isn't a group
in existence -
could help you start your own by putting you in touch
with others like you or
can be your virtual twins group/club.
Please feel free to include any of our articles in your
club newsletters, but do us the courtesy of crediting
when you do. If there is anything you'd like to see more
of, or have any articles which you would like to submit, please
email me at Lindsey@twinsclub.co.uk
is run by parents of twins who give up a considerable
amount of their spare time (and not-so-spare money) in order
to make the future easier for others with twins or more. We
hope you enjoy visiting, and that you'll be inspired to get
more involved, by sending suggestions, stories, news etc.
Thanks and keep visiting!
Our Achievements :
As well as now being the UK's largest website for parenting
twins, triplets and more, we're proud to have donated over
£5000 to charity.
2005 Twins calendar raised £2000 for BLISS, the Premature
Baby Charity
2006 Twins and Triplets calendar raised £3000 for Tamba,
the Twins and Multiple Birth Charity.
2007 Twins calendar raised £500 for Tommy's The Baby
Charity

about the calendar here.
We achieved all this with very little support from anyone
apart from our loyal members - those who logged on each day
to join in the discussions, offer advice and support where
it was needed, or simply a listening ear. A
massive thanks goes out to everyone who has helped
us achieve our aims, and we hope you will continue to support
us in the future. We hope you enjoy this website and make it
a regular port of call, like many other parents. Please email
Tony if you experience any problems, when trying to browse
this website, and email
Lindsey if you have anything you'd like to share with
us.
