Beamish Open Air museum

On Wednesday the children and I went to Beamish museum. A couple of months ago child 3 school sent a letter home asking if we were interested in going on a day trip to Beamish. I had never heard of it so after a quick internet search I decided to book enough places for the children and I. The school was asking for £1 each for entrance and travel. It was surch a good deal that we were very happy when we were told our places were secured.

Babies v Teenagers

I am on my second holiday week with my 3 children and I have come to the conclusion that babies and teenagers have very similar needs.

Both sleep during the day but not at night. In fact unless they are woken up for feeding they would carry on sleeping till lunch time, but once awake demand feeding almost constantly.

Enjoying my “free” time

The last few months have been hectic. In fact I think hectic is too weak a word to describe the last few months but as my brain is refusing to come up with alternative we will have to settle for hectic.

A narrow escape from poo-related career downfall

With the rose-tinted memory of maternity leave still fresh in my mind, and a boss whose idea of flexible working is asking his secretary to bend over to pick up a file, I am ever conscious of making a good impression in my new job. Rightly or wrongly I don’t want to be labelled as someone with ‘childcare issues’. You’d think that nowadays that would be no bad badge to bear, but in fact you might just as well be labelled as syphilitic, for the distance you’ll see between you and some of your colleagues.
